Turnkey Core Values and Fundamentals

Our Fundamental and Core Values as an International Standard

When you think about your company, is it clear to outsiders what it stands for and what its values are? Having clear core values that are visible to people both inside and outside of your organization is essential to achieving success. Without them, how do you set goals and improve? At Turnkey,  we have established seven core values that we hold to the highest esteem. These are all rooted in Remarkablism ™. This term, coined by our founder, refers to the never-ending cycle of self-discovery and purposeful growth. To put it simply, Remarkablism ™ is about being the best you. Core values help to achieve this goal.

Remarkablism ™  can and should be practiced in the workplace. When we talk about Remarkablism ™ in the  work-life culture at Turnkey, we focus on seven core values. These values have evolved into an international standard that we are proud to share.

What are Core Values?

Before we dive into our seven core values, here’s a quick refresher course on what a core value is. A core value is a timeless belief. It is short and memorable. It gets the point across in a clear way to embody a company’s beliefs. To make core values observable, we need fundamentals. A fundamental is a specific behavior that is stated as a clear “do this” action. It starts with a verb, names the trigger or situation, and defines what the expected standard is. Fundamentals are vital to carrying out core values.

At Turnkey Processing, there are seven core values that have become our international standard.

  • Provide Remarkable Service

When we talk about providing remarkable service, we’re focusing on embodying excellence and striving to achieve excellence both inside and outside the organization. You need to set goals and work to achieve them. The standard should be to surpass expectations each time to provide remarkable service. Providing remarkable service also helps to make you and your company memorable. Just as people will remember those who didn’t meet expectations, they will remember those who exceeded them. When you provide remarkable service, you are making a name for your company.

  • Work as a Team

We all remember the saying, there’s no “I” in team. The same principles guide this core value. Unity, collaboration, and care lead to collective success. At Turnkey Processing, we always say, “together we go far”. People know this to be true because when you have people supporting you and working together, success is much more achievable. When you work as a team, you utilize everyone’s strengths for the common good. The result? An amazing product that embodies what your company stands for.

  • Always be Open to Learning

Always be open to learning new things. Be curious about what’s around you. By asking questions, we continue to learn from each other. Seek feedback so that you’re always learning. Don’t be afraid of constructive criticism. This can help you grow and improve. You may not see ways something can be improved, but others might. Use their insight to help you learn new things and grow. Be an avid reader. This is how we learn about the world around us and about things that are unfamiliar to us. Reflect deeply about what you’ve read and learned so that you can use that in your everyday life, both at work and at home.

  • Find a Way to Win

People who achieve the most success are excellent problem solvers. They don’t get discouraged by not knowing the answer or by getting something wrong. They look for ways to win despite what’s thrown at them. Be creative as you solve problems and over challenges. You may be surprised at what can be achieved when people think out of the box, as they find a way to win. Being successful may not happen with the first attempt. You may have to try multiple times until you find the winning solution.

  • Take Ownership

People who stand by their word and take ownership of both the positive and negative are always looked highly upon. At Turnkey Processing, we encourage people to take on projects and tasks with pride and to honor their word. If you don’t have your word, what do you have?  When you succeed, be proud of what you’ve accomplished. When you don’t meet the mark, own it and look for ways you can do better next time. This is also a part of always being open to learning. Taking ownership is a core value that is important in each aspect of your life.

  • Egos at the Door

No one should think they are better than anyone else. Practice self-awareness, value feedback, and learn from others. Have the mindset that other people also have something valuable to share. Be respectful of others’ opinions and ways of doing things, even if you don’t agree. Chances are you’ll stumble upon something of value. This allows you to be open to new ideas, grow, and learn. By practicing this core value, we can truly get on a path to Remarkablism ™.

  • Have Fun!

You can’t be all work and no play! Remember to have fun and enjoy the journey. Make the time to celebrate milestones, express gratitude, and keep things in perspective. While we all need to focus and lock in, we also need to make time to have fun and relax.

How Do We Communicate Our Core Values?

While core values are vital to have, they’re wasted if they are not communicated to others. At Turnkey Processing, we strive to communicate our values so that everyone knows where we stand and what our goals are. If we don’t do that, we can’t expect to succeed. This can be done by posting the values for people to see. Don’t assume that everyone just knows and understands what your core values are and what they have to do. Chances are, they don’t, or they need clarification. Whether you print them out and post them in an area where everyone sees, email them, or both, employees need to see and understand what is expected of them.

Once the values are clearly established, look for ways to incorporate them into daily processes. Look to see how certain procedures align with core values. If you want to always learn, look to see how seminars and on-the-job training can help make this happen. Provide training for all employees so that they are aware of what each core value is and the expectations that come with it. By being transparent, they can better achieve their goals. Don’t beat around the bush. Be clear and concise when communicating core values.

Besides letting all employees know what your core values are, communicate them externally as well. Share them on your website so that everyone can know and understand your core values. Always make sure your message is aligned. If you want core values to be a success. You need to ensure that internal and external messaging aligns. If it doesn’t, employees and those outside your organization can get confused. When this happens, your core values are not reaching their fullest potential.

Check in on employees and their core value progress. Performance reviews can be a great tool to discuss how employees are upholding their core values and what areas need improvement.
